RunTheNumbers is built by a solo developer and used by real investors. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We keep it simple: we collect what we need to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with third parties except to operate the service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We use this to authenticate you and communicate with you about your account.
When you save a deal, we store the property details and analysis inputs you provide (address, price, assumptions, calculations, notes, etc.). This data is associated with your account and used to power the Service.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive and store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your access level.
We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage analytics—things like which features are used, how often deals are analyzed, and general interaction patterns. This helps us improve the product. PostHog is configured to respect Do Not Track signals. We do not collect personally identifiable behavioral data beyond what is needed to improve the service.
We use Sentry to capture application errors. Error reports may include information about what you were doing when the error occurred (e.g., which page you were on), but do not include deal data or personal financial information.
When you import a property via Zillow URL, we fetch publicly available listing data on your behalf. We store this data as part of your deal record. We do not share this data with Zillow or any other party.
We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
We share data only with the third-party services that power the product:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties.
If you generate a shareable link for a deal, the deal data included in that share becomes accessible to anyone with the link. You control what is included in the share and can revoke the link at any time. We are not responsible for how recipients handle shared information.
We retain your account and deal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons (e.g., billing records).
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our database. That said, no system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to hello@runthenumbers.app.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and to support analytics. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. By using the Service, you consent to this use of cookies.
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
